Why advertise on WEBWIZARD 360
WEBWIZARD 360 is a free, independent general-news site with an engaged general audience that comes for business, the economy, entertainment, health, politics, science, sports, technology and world news. Advertising is what keeps that journalism free to read, and we are glad to carry it. This page tells you what we sell, how we sell it, and the lines we will not cross, so you know exactly what you are buying before you write to us.
We treat advertisers straight, which includes being honest about the one thing many publishers leave out: buying advertising here buys you an audience, and nothing else. It does not buy coverage, influence over a story, or a quiet word with the newsroom. If that is what you are looking for, we are the wrong site, and we would rather say so now than take your money and disappoint you.
What we offer
Most of our inventory is standard display advertising, filled programmatically through advertising exchanges, which is how the majority of open-web advertising is bought and sold today. On top of that we can offer a limited number of direct placements and newsletter sponsorships for advertisers who want a specific, guaranteed presence rather than an automated buy.
We also accept a small amount of sponsored content, and we treat it carefully. Any sponsored or paid post is clearly and unmissably labelled as such, so that no reader can mistake it for our independent journalism. Sponsored content does not get to borrow the credibility of the newsroom by pretending to be part of it. If you want your message to look like our reporting, that is precisely what we will not do.
How to get in touch
Advertising, sponsorship and partnership enquiries go to support@webwizard360.com with ADVERTISING at the front of the subject line. Tell us what you want to promote, the kind of placement you have in mind, your rough timeframe and budget, and any landing pages or creative you already have. The more concrete your first message, the faster we can tell you whether we are a fit.
These enquiries are handled on the business side of the operation, kept deliberately separate from the editors who decide the news. That separation is not a formality. It is the reason both your money and our journalism are safe from each other, and it is described in more depth on our ownership and funding page.
What we will not accept
Some categories are off the table regardless of the price, because carrying them would harm our readers or our credibility. We do not accept advertising that is deceptive, that makes false or unsupported claims, or that is dressed up to look like editorial content or like a system alert. Specifically, we refuse:
- Scams, fraud, fake giveaways, and get-rich-quick or miracle-cure schemes.
- Malware, deceptive downloads, and advertisements that mimic virus warnings or software prompts.
- Illegal products and services, counterfeit goods, and anything promoting hate, harassment or violence.
- Misleading health and medical claims, and unlicensed financial or investment schemes.
- Political advertising that conceals who is paying for it.
- Advertising aimed at children, and creative that has no business sitting next to serious news.
Programmatic advertising is filtered against these standards as far as the exchanges allow, but automated systems are imperfect and a bad advertisement occasionally slips through. If you see one on our pages, tell us at the address above and we will act. Repeat offenders are blocked from our inventory wherever we can identify them.
The wall between advertising and the newsroom
This is the part that matters most, so we will be blunt about it. Advertising with us gives you no influence over our journalism. You cannot buy a favourable story, kill an unfavourable one, or preview coverage before it runs. Our editors are not told who is advertising, and they do not clear stories with anyone on the business side.
If your company becomes the subject of a story, we will report it on the merits and disclose that you are an advertiser, and being a customer will not soften a word of it. If you ask us to remove or change accurate coverage because you buy advertising, the answer is no, and the request itself may become something we report. We know that costs us some advertisers. We think the ones worth having are the ones who understand why it has to be that way.
Standards, disclosure and where to read more
All advertising and sponsored content on the site is expected to be legal, honest and clearly what it is. We reserve the right to reject, remove or require changes to any advertisement or campaign at our discretion, and to decline a customer whose business we judge incompatible with our readers’ interests. Rejection is not a negotiation about our journalism.
How our journalism is produced and kept independent is set out in our editorial standards, and the rules under which advertising pays the bills without buying influence are on our ownership and funding page. If you want to reach a broad, engaged news audience and you are comfortable with all of the above, we would like to hear from you. Write to support@webwizard360.com with ADVERTISING in the subject line.
