What this site is, and what it is not

WEBWIZARD 360 publishes journalism for general information. We report what happened, who said it, and where the document or the number came from. Nobody reads a disclaimer for pleasure, and we have not tried to make this one enjoyable, but the distinction it draws is one our readers act on every day, so it is worth stating clearly.

Nothing here is professional advice. A story about a court ruling is not legal advice about your situation. A story about a market move is not a recommendation to buy or sell anything. A story about a new treatment or a health scare is not a diagnosis and is not a substitute for a conversation with a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. We report the news. We are not your lawyer, your doctor, your accountant or your financial adviser.

News changes, and pages are moments in time

The single most important thing to understand about a news site is that a story is true as of a timestamp, not forever. Breaking news is provisional by nature. Early figures get revised, first accounts get corrected by better ones, officials update what they said an hour earlier, and a situation that looked settled at noon can look different by evening.

We handle this by dating our stories, labelling developing coverage as developing, and updating the same page as facts firm up rather than pretending the first version was the last word. When you act on something time-sensitive that you read here, check whether it is still current, and check the primary source for anything where being out of date could cost you. A page that was accurate when it published can be overtaken by events without anyone having made a mistake.

Financial, health, legal and safety information

We cover business, the economy and markets, and none of that coverage is investment advice. We do not know your finances, your risk tolerance or your goals, and we are not suggesting you do anything with your money. Prices and figures we quote can be delayed or later revised. Decisions about investing, borrowing or spending are yours, ideally taken with an adviser who is regulated to give you advice.

We cover health and science, and none of that coverage is medical advice. A report on a study is a report on that study, with all the limits a single study carries, and it is not a reason to start, stop or change a treatment. We cover law, politics and public safety, and those reports are information, not instructions. In an emergency, follow the official guidance from the relevant authorities, not a summary you read on any news site, ours included.

Outside links and advertising

Our stories link to other websites so you can check our sources and read further. We do not control those sites and we do not endorse them by linking. Once you follow a link you are governed by that site’s terms and privacy practices, not ours, and its accuracy is its own responsibility.

Our pages also carry advertising, a lot of it selected automatically through advertising exchanges. An advertisement appearing next to a story is not an endorsement of the product, the seller or the claims in it, and it says nothing about how the story was reported. What we will and will not accept from advertisers is on our advertise page, and the fact that advertising pays the bills without buying influence is covered on our ownership and funding page.

Quotes, opinion and third-party material

When we quote a person or an organisation, we are reporting that they said it, not endorsing it. When we publish opinion or analysis, it is labelled, and it reflects the view of the writer, not a house position you should treat as fact. We keep reporting and opinion visibly apart, a discipline set out in our editorial standards.

Some material on our pages comes from third parties, including wire copy, syndicated content, embedded posts, photographs and data. We take reasonable care with what we publish, but we cannot independently guarantee every third-party element, and where such material later proves wrong we correct our own coverage under our corrections policy.

Getting it wrong, and putting it right

We work hard to be accurate and we still make mistakes, because every newsroom does. What separates a trustworthy one is what it does next. When we get something wrong we fix it on the page, openly and with a note that says what changed. If you have spotted an error, do not assume someone else has reported it.
