Isaacs’ mother, Susan Sky-Isaacs, and brother, Braedyn Isaacs, have expressed their grief and shock over his sudden death. They have also asked for help to bring home his body from Florida. A friend, Ashley Cooke, set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise $50,000 for the funeral expenses and other costs. As of Tuesday morning, the fundraiser had surpassed its goal with more than $82,000 raised.
Isaacs’ family and friends have described him as a funny and kind person who loved Star Wars and had a great sense of adventure. They have also praised his dedication to helping his community as an archaeological community monitor who worked on various projects related to Indigenous heritage and culture.
The SNGR has also issued a statement offering their condolences to Isaacs’ family and friends. Chief Sherri-Lyn Hill said that she was saddened by the loss of Dylan Isaacs after a tragic shooting in Florida on Sunday night. She said that he was an SNGR employee since 2021 who dedicated his career to helping his community.
A plea for information from the police
The Miami Gardens Police Department has identified the suspect as a white male driving a black sedan with tinted windows. The police said that they located the vehicle that was used in the shooting on Tuesday morning in West Palm Beach. They are still looking for more information about the motive and circumstances of the shooting.
