Jamie Foxx is grieving the death of his friend and frequent costar Keith Jefferson, who passed away at the age of 53. Foxx shared the news of Jefferson’s passing on his Instagram on Thursday, posting several photos and videos of their time together. He wrote that Jefferson was “nothing but absolute grace” and “an amazing soul”. He also said that he met Jefferson in college and they had a “deep friendship and kinship”.
A talented actor and producer
Jefferson was an actor, producer, voiceover artist, and acting coach. He had roles in several films and TV shows, including Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He also worked with Foxx on The Jamie Foxx Show, Day Shift, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, and the upcoming film The Burial. He called The Burial his “most important role to date” in an Instagram post last month.
A battle with cancer
Jefferson revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer in a post on his Instagram on Aug. 9. He thanked his fans for their support and prayers, and said that he was “ready for this fight”. Foxx commented on the post, saying that he loved him and that they would beat the disease. However, Jefferson succumbed to cancer on Oct. 5, leaving behind a legacy of work and friendship.
